Planning A Cheaper Wedding

Planning A Cheaper Wedding

Planning A Cheaper Wedding

by Gareth Bale

For many people, their wedding day is the single most expensive occasion of their lifetime. So, how can you reduce wedding costs without excessively compromising on the quality of the event?

Arranging your big day so that you will not be getting married at the most popular time of year will significantly lower the costs of arrangements. Though you probably will not fancy getting married during the winter, the shoulder seasons at the start and end of summer provide good value with little compromise regarding weather.

You will need to spend quite some time visiting various online weddings shops and high street wedding vendors so as to properly compare the prices and value being offered. Ask about hidden costs and extras as the price you are quoted is not always necessarily the price you will end up paying.

Prices may be very expensive if you wish to have your reception in a luxurious hotel or a ballroom. These, however, should not be your only options when the wedding reception hall is being made. Try to look for a room at a golf club or country club as these will usually be a less expensive option.

You can reduce wedding expenses by carefully considering the food for your wedding reception. In the most extreme case, you can save a tremendous sum of money if you are going to prepare the menu yourself. If this is not possible, you can still significantly cut costs by either using your own caterer or by reducing the range of food available to guests.

Finally, see if friends can help out with your wedding arrangements in place of giving you a wedding gift. For example, they could assist with the food, photography or driving the wedding cars. Not only will this reduce your outgoings, it will also give them a feeling of pride because they are making a personal contribution that will be long remembered by you.
