If you have a First Communion party in your future then you may be wondering where to start. There are so many aspects of this kind of party that it can be easy to get overwhelmed. Here are seven basic steps to creating a First Communion party that everyone will love, especially the child receiving his or her First Communion.

1. The Location: Many people choose to have the First Communion in their own backyard but depending upon the size of your backyard and the number of guests that you plan to invite this may not work. Instead, you may want to go with a more wide open location like a public park. Often, public parks may rent out their pavilions complete with barbeque grills and picnic tables for very little money.

2. The Guest List: This will include many people because not only will you want to invite close and extended family but you'll also probably want to invite those that you are close to at church, especially if you have been attending there for a while and they have seen your children grow up in the Church. Of course, you also can't leave out the Clergy.

3. Getting Invitations: There are a few choices when it comes to party invitations. You can have invitations that come with a package of First Communion party supplies or you can get them professionally printed. You could also go with First Communion Photo Invitations to show off the First Communion dress or other clothing.

4. The Music: Whether or not to hire a band or deejay is a question that many face. A band or deejay can make a party much better, especially if they are knowledgeable about the type of music the people attending would like based on age and other factors. This is a smart investment for anyone who want to make their party super.

5. The Banner: Among the rest of your First Holy Communion party supplies you'll need a banner for the party. You'll want it to be big and bold to show up in pictures and to include your child's name and the date of the First Communion. You can either have someone make you a banner or get it professionally done.

6. The Food & Supplies: You'll want a wide selection of food for your party as well as 1st Holy Communion party supplies, usually themed white to match the rest of the dcor. You'll want to go as spill-proof as possible if your color theme is white, so barbequed ribs is most likely out, unless you want new dresses covered in barbeque stains. Also, don't forget First Communion party favors.

7. Sending Out Thank You Cards: Make sure that on your list of 1st Communion party supplies is thank you cards. These are nice tokens of your party a week or so after it has ended and it lets your guests know that you appreciated their company, gifts and more. Thank you cards should always be sent after a party of this sort.
